Shrine Guardian

The first boss, a giant skeleton with a sword, guards the shrine at the start.

Where: go to the shrine after you rest at the first Crystal Monument. Get the Wooden Club from the crypt first.

How to beat it: hit it with Impact damage; the Wooden Club is ideal. Keep your distance. When it raises its sword over its head, back away as far as you can, because that swing reaches much farther than the others. Heal with herbs and elixirs when you need to.

Reward: talk to the fallen guardian for the Stone Duck Figurine, then take the Holy Sword Endu from The Endu Shrine.

Grave Guardian

A tomb guard, much stronger than the Shrine Guardian.

How to beat it: when it attacks, step back. When it dashes at you, step to the side and stay close, and it will miss. Magic did nothing against it in the fight below, so use your weapon.

Dagoom the Sea King

The boss of Obmuer Temple, behind the door that opens once you beat three Royal Guards in the big cavern.

How to beat it: bring healing items and throwing weapons. Hit Dagoom with the Azure Torch whenever you can; it keeps burning him. Use your air dash to get out of the current and the poisoned water. Slash the fish that swim around him.

Reward: the Treacherous Baleen achievement. Afterward, light the third gargoyle outside and use the fast travel point next to it.

The Necronomicon

The boss at the top of the Tower of Knowledge.

Where: get the Forbidden Archives Key from the NPC below the rotating staircase, open the doors by the Storm Gem, then ride the elevator up and fight through to the boss. Every step is in the Tower of Knowledge walkthrough.

How to beat it: keep your distance; its ranged attacks cause status effects. Throw daggers, piercing needles or occult knives until the book falls, then run in and slash it. Set it on fire with the Azure Torch. When it turns into its goat form, stay away until it changes back.

Reward: burn the book for the acid vial. It coats your throwing daggers with acid so you can burst the flesh growths in the tower. You also get the Hell Transcribed achievement.

Siraatsu Castle bosses

Siraatsu Castle has three bosses, and the giant door only opens after all three are down.

  • One waits at the end of the long upstairs hallway near the save point.
  • One is the pair in the bedroom.
  • If you can't find the third, search the rooms near the teleporter.

Bosses still being mapped

Steam achievements name three more bosses: Poenir and Duenir, Malformed Demonic Aberrations (Demonic Servitude), Josami Lord Saijha (Sworn Protector) and Gigantic Serf (Beneath Rotten Waters). Their locations and strategies are added here as players reach them.
